Why is it important to take electives in school?

So you can figure out what you want to do whether it is creative writing or French

By choosing classes other than the usual four subjects, students are more likely to get ahead when it comes to going to college and getting a job. It also allows them to enjoy school more. There are many reasons on how electives make a large, positive impact on students. At least thats what I think.
