What made renaissance painting different from the previous period of art? what did renaissance artists paint that was different from the middle ages artists? what new techniques were used?

    So the renaissance mess rebirth and indeed it was a rebirth.

    People started painting humans and daily human life. Before the Renaissance people were only interested in painting gods ans religion.

    Now people became more interested in human life (this was called humanism)

    They painted the daily life of farmers and scenes form the the market and what went on with everybody in terms of their life.

    There was also some main new techniques like sfumato which involves no hard lines in paintings. They blended the lines into each other to create a sort of shadowy effect. Sfumato means smoked in Latin.

    Another technique was using linseed oil instead of egg yolk for paint. This meant that the paint dried more slowly and gave time to make improvements in the painting.

    They also began painting in various surfaces like canvases And frescos.
