It was developed together with kyogen, which are comical pieces performed during interludes of the main noh performance ... Noh thus became increasingly standardized, with an emphasis on tradition rather than innovation.

    Noh theater is a traditional form of classical Japanese musical drama, performed through singing, dance, and elaborate costume. First developed in the 14th century by Kan'ami and his son Zeami, Noh theater features a single supernatural or dreamlike tales of emotion and drama.
