    Elizabeth Catlett

    Explanation:

This is the quote by Elizabeth Catlett, African-American and Mexican sculptor and the graphic artist.

She strongly supported the idea that black artists should not simply go with the flow of the existing art world in the US, but instead that they should get involved with the black liberation movement. With this, she thought artists must learn of the inside struggles of the community and see the need for their artistic contribution to it. They should reach black people regardless of class and status. and "go where the black people are" to fight for liberation and "artistic production in these terms"
