An x-ray analysis determined that in Giorgione's The Tempest, the soldier on the left was originally painted as

"The Tempest" (known in Italy also as "The Gypsy woman and the soldier") is a painting by Italian artist Giorgione dated between 1506 and 1508 in which the X-rays revealed that in place of a solider on the left, Giorgione originally painted another naked woman.
