As time went by and the creation of the first civilizations, art assumed new and impulsive goals. These impulses were as diverse as religious, intellectual and cultural impulses, for example. Art in these societies was a way of showing talent and sophistication and was limited to the elite of society.

as we can see in the older societies, art was geared towards a function that depended on the time when it was being executed, an example of this, is the art established at the time of the renaissance that had the function of promoting man more rationality and less religiosity. This relationship between art and functionality can be seen today, in works of art that drive recurring social and cultural issues in our society.
