    Dingi Dingi dance is a dance performed by the young girls of the Acholi tribe in Northern Uganda. This dance is also famous for its imitative form of dancing from that of birds, especially in regards to those bird dances that are meant to attract the opposite sex.

    In the case of the Acholi tribe, the dance symbolizes a girl's attempts to attract boys' attentions and maybe even get herself a man. This traditional dance ensures the men that whoever they chose is a healthy and active girl. the more vigorous the girl dances, the higher her chances of getting selected by a man for his wife. This dance also acts as a chief way of getting a wife, for the men.
