Neuroplasticity is the ability of the brain to modify the connections of the neurons and rewire itself. Without this ability, the infant won't be able to recover from any form of brain injury.

Small errors in the brain can easily be recovered, but when there is large error (like those caused by zika virus, the child being hit on the head), the infant can lose function of vital organs or parts of the body.
