    Explanation: GLUT 4 is a protein that transports genetically encoded glucose, is located in adipocytes, skeletal muscle and cardiac muscle, is encoded by a gene on chromosome 17. It has a Km for glucose of 5 mm. When there is no adequate stimulus, most of the GLUT 4 is stored in intracellular vesicles.
