    The correct answer is Pharynx.

    The upper respiratory tract is made up of nasal cavity and nose. The immediate portion of the respiratory tract is made of an inner open chamber referred to the as nasal cavity and external nose. The protruding part of the face is the nose and serves as a vent which is for air exchange. Air enters the nose and pass to nasal cavity through two opening which is called exterior nares or nostrils.

    Inhaled air is cleaned, moistened and warmed inside nasal cavity so that it can travel safely to all other parts found in the respiratory tract. Structures which are found in the nasal cavity to detect resonate voice and odorants. After air circulated over nasal cavity, it passed into pharynx through internal nares.
