    B. carbon monoxide

    Explanation:

Natural gas is composed of a mixture of light hydrocarbons (methane, ethane, propane, butane, hydrogen sulfide and other gases in smaller proportions) which, subjected to room temperature and atmospheric pressure, remains in the gaseous state. It is an energy source found in nature in two distinct forms. It can be obtained from deposits and by burning biomass (sugarcane bagasse).

The natural gas found in deposits is usually associated with oil. It constitutes finite reserves, and, according to research carried out by the IEA (International Energy Agency), if the average consumption rate of the last decade is maintained, natural gas deposits will run out in 100 years. This energy source harms the environment less than oil and coal. However, because it is of fossil origin, its combustion contributes to the greenhouse effect.

Carbon monoxide is not an important component of natural gas.
