During spring, when Earl's crops were plentiful, he noticed an increased number of rabbits. At night, he also heard an increased number of howls from the coyotes. What do you think will happen when winter comes around and the crops die out?

    The question is giving us the following scenario: During spring, when Earl's crops were plentiful, he noticed an increased number of rabbits. At night, he also heard an increased number of howls from the coyotes. We see here that the rabits were plentiful when there were a lot of crops and we could guess that the rabits would feed on the crops. So, during the winter, there would be no or less rabits and the same holds for coyotes - no or less coyotes would be seen
