    anterior pituitary gland.

    Explanation:

The growth hormone from the anterior pituitary gland is responsible for the growth of bones and soft tissues during the growing age. The hormone stimulates lipolysis to increase the release of fatty acids for ATP production as required for growth.

It also reduces the uptake of glucose from the blood to ensure fuel availability for growth. In the absence of growth hormone or its hypo-secretion from anterior pituitary results in stunted growth. The individual is short in stature than the other individuals of the same age group. The condition is called dwarfism.
