What is an inflammatory disease of the arteries with clot formation, usually in the legs, leading to occlusion of arteries and impaired circulation causing intermittent claudication?

    Answer: peripheral Arterial Disease (PAD)

    Explanation: This Disease can be as a result of Atherosclerosis (hardening of the artery)

    In some PAD patients, the vascular system may compensate for the reduced blood flow by forming alternative routes, called collateral vessels, which bypass the affected vasculature. In others, collateral vessels may not be sufficient, resulting in foot pain at rest and non-healing sores on the feet.

    To prevent PAD, patients are advised to desist from smoking, reducing fatty foods amongst others

    It can be treated surgically in severe cases or non surgically in mild cases
