    Paranasal sinuses are" chambers" filled with air that surround the nasal cavities. There are four of them: maxillary sinuses (under the eyes); the frontal sinuses (above the eyes); the ethmoidal sinuses (between the eyes) and the sphenoidal sinuses (behind the eyes). Paranasal synuses are lined with respiratory epithelium which has protective role.

    Surface for odor receptors is the olfactory epithelium located in the nasal cavity.
