Calculation of the vital capacity of the lungs.
For teenagers, it is calculated according to the formulas:
Boys 13-16 years old:VC = { (height (cm) x · 0,052) } - { (age (years) x 0,022) } - 4,2 = :. Girls 8-16 years old:VC = { (height (cm) x 0,041) } - { (age (years) x 0,018) } - 3,7 =:
In quiet breathing person inhales and exhales about 500 ml of air. This volume of air is called tidal volume. With a deep breath, you can breathe in addition a further 1,500 ml of air (inspiratory reserve volume). And after tidal can breathe in addition a further 1,500 ml of air (expiratory reserve volume). The sum of these three volumes of lung capacity - VC. It is an adult average 3500 ml. VC depends on age, gender, physical fitness person.
