Body cell membranes are permeable to saline.

The cell membrane consist of pores through which ions and other substances are moved in or out of the cell. The sizes of these pores can be regulated. The cell membranes are selectively permeable, that is, they allow the inward movement of some substances while preventing inward movement of other substances depending on the needs of the cells.
