Think about a petal plucked from a flower. is the petal alive according to the characteristics of life?

    If you take a flower that has 10 petals if you look at it this way it is just something that has no lungs or organs but if you look at it as the flower is a actual organism it has 10 arms that stretch towards the sky constantly and it does have organs it has a digestive track a heart and a set of lungs if you were to stand In a chamber that has no air in it what will happen to you you will die cause you cant breathe if the flower loses its petal its like removing a piece of its lung but to answer your question the petal is like the extremities on our bodies if someone rips a piece of us off that piece of us is goingto wither away just as that hole inside of us is going to bleed that petal will wither away and the flower will have to rely on the other petals to pick up the slack.
