Do you agree or disagree that because DDT and the other banned chlorinated hydrocarbon pesticides pose no demonstrable threat to human health and have saved millions of lives, they should again be approved for use in the United States? Explain.

    I believe they should not be allowed to use in United States. Since the result reports are not supporting or providing clear information on how it is safe to use, we should not permit its use. Secondly, there are many health threats linked to the use of DDT in world war 2.

    Moreover, we are also unfamiliar with the long term effects of these chemicals. Who knows if they are contributing to health threats.

    However the associated health threats of DDT and its breakdown products are mentioned below:

    - Breast & other cancers

    - Male infertility

    - Miscarriages & low birth weight

    - Developmental delay

    - Nervous system & liver damage
