Some state roads are salted heavily in the winter, creating an environmental problem. Explain how organisms could be harmed by high levels of salt from roadways.

    It can effect how freshwater organisms filter water in and out of their bodies.

    Explanation:

    When the salt gets into lakes and streams, it dissolves into sodium and chloride ions, which, I'm pretty sure, clogs up the water that the organism is filtering through it's body.
