    Reye's Syndrome

    Explanation:

    Reye's syndrome is likely to occur in children who are diagnosed with viral infections. Reye's syndrome is rare but it is fatal as it causes swelling of the liver and brain. Studies have shown that antipyretic drugs, when given to children to cure headache or fever, causes this rare syndrome i. e Reye's syndrome. Although aspirin is approved for child usage, but children recovering from viral infections like flu or smallpox should never be given antipyretic drugs.
