    The answer is true.

    The receptive field that is bigger detect changes over a wider area, with fewer receptors but it has less precise perception. For example, the fingers, which detect fine details, have many, densely packed mechanoreceptors with small receptive fields. On the other hand, legs have fewer receptors with large receptive fields.
