Dr. Garcia-Lopez has treated many clients for spider phobias, but has never encountered someone with a phobia of electric outlets. This is surprising to her, given the fact that there are no dangerous spiders in the area of the country where she works, but people regularly get hurt or killed from electric shocks. What explanation have theorists offered for this?

The explanation that theorists give for this is that spiders have been living on earth several thousand years ago but electricity wasn't discovered during the ancient period.

    Explanation:

It is rare to encounter people with a phobia for electric shock but people with phobia for spider attacks can be commonly found.

Electricity is not an ancient invention. When we check evolutionary history it can be seen that spiders have been living on earth from ancient time.

This is why cases of phobia for spider attacks are common.
