When a human gets a bacterial infection, like strep throat, a doctor gives them antibiotics to get rid of the infection. the antibiotic work by targeting the live bacteria and killing them. will an antibiotic work to cure a human of virus, like the flu. why or why not?

    Unfortunately when it comes to viruses like those that cause colds or influenza (flu), antibiotic medicines don't work. In fact, taking antibiotics to try and treat viral illnesses might make us all sicker in the future.

    Explanation:

    Antibiotics are to big to kill viruses and antibiotics are kinda specifically just for different types of bacterias. The way viruses work are also just competly different.
