    Got this off yahoo answers the answer is the surface pressure will increase as the front will usually boundary or front will have the lowest pressure. This is where the lifting of air usually occurs as one kind of air mass meets another. The only exception may occur when the front is elevated or aloft which happens most often in mountainous valley regions.
