Why must the sperm and egg undergo meiosis? so that the offspring will have 1/2 the chromosomes so that the offspring will have the correct number of chromosomes so that the offspring will have double the number of chromosomes

    the male gamete and the female gamete undergo meiosis so that the complete number of chromosomes decrease to half therefore after fertilization which is the fusion of the male gamete with the female gamete they form the zygote which has the complete number of chromosomes
