What does diploid mean? What types of cells are diploid? What is the diploid number for humans?

    Diploid means the cell has the total number of chromosomes. In a human, this would be 46. A normal body cell is diploid, compared to a haploid cell which is only in sex cells, like the sperm or the egg.
