If a DNA double helix strand contains 3.6 billion based total, and there are 0.8 billion adenine bases contained in that strand, how many cytosine bases are there?

    There are 1 billion cytosine bases

    Explanation:

    If there are 0.8 billion adenine bases that means there are also 0.8 billion thymine bases, which is equal to 1.6 billion out of 3.6 billion bases. take the 1.6 billion from the 3.6 billion and you are left with 2 billion. There is an equal number of cytosine and guanine bases so there will be 1 billion guanine bases and 1 billion cytosine bases.
