    Explanation: DNA is a genetic material housed in the nucleus. Genetic information are stored in DNA. All the genetic information about a cell is found in the nucleus. Transcription is the process of copying the genetic information encoded in a DNA into an RNA. This occurs in the nucleus because DNA cannot leave the nucleus. After DNA has been transcribed in to an RNA, the RNA leaves the nucleus to the ribosome where it is needed for protein synthesis.
