    act as antigen presenting cells

    phagocytic

    are generally the first to arrive; part of the acute inflammatory response

    Monocytes:

    act as antigen presenting cells

    can secrete cytokines and attract inflammatory cells like fibroblasts, etc.

    phagocytic

    bigger role in chronic inflammation
