The differential diagnosis would be bacterial Pharyngitis.

Aside from having a scratchy or a dry throat, symptoms of pharyngitis may include a low-grade fever and sore throat. Bacterial Pharyngitis may be caused by bacteria, hence the name. Pharyngitis may be cured within 5-10 days if treated properly and if the patient rests well and intakes his or her medication right.
