The Bradford protein assay is a dye binding assay which is based on the differential color change of a dye in response to various concentration of protein. The Bradford protein is usually preferred over Lowry protein assay because of its many advantages. In regards to potential contaminating compounds, the Bradford protein assay is not affected by many of the compounds that limit the application of the Lowry assay.
