    b. They have a net consumption of ATP

    Explanation:

ATP are created and not consumed in catabolic process but consumed in anabolic process.

hydrolysis of ATP is catabolic reaction. during catabolic reactions larger molecules converted and break down to smaller molecules which also results in release of energy. The efficiency of this energy release is not 100%. ATP are formed and can also be stored to fulfill future energy demands in the anabolism.
