    The correct answer is temperate deserts. These are cold deserts that occur at high latitudes. The dryness of these areas results from either being very far from the ocean or separated from the ocean by a mountain range. Some examples of these deserts occur in Central Asia and on the eastern side of the Rocky Mountains (prairies), the eastern side of the southern Andes and in southern Australia.
