    They are naturally found in animals.

    Salmonella is a genus which is of rod-shaped or bacillus and is gram-negative bacteria which belongs to the family of Enterobacteriaceae.

    The two species of Salmonella include Salmonella Bongori and Salmonella enterica. Salmonella enterica is also divided into six other subspecies which include 2500 serotypes.

    Salmonella is chemotrophs and they obtain their energy from reduction reaction and oxidation by use of organic sources. Salmonella enterica its subspecies are found everywhere in all warm-blooded animals and environment.

    One type of species called s. bongori is being restricted to cold-blooded animals to be particular reptiles. Salmonella species certain serotypes cause illness. For example, nontyphoidal serotypes which can be transferred from human to human and from animals to humans.

    They invade in the gastrointestinal tract that causes Salmonella food poisoning. Their symptoms resolve without using antibiotics.
