The number of chromosomes present in an organism does not reflect the complexity level. Some organisms with very simple body organizations have more chromosomes than multicellular complex human beings. For example, Paramecium is a unicellular eukaryote and belongs to kingdom protists. There are about 50 pairs of chromosomes present in its unicellular simple body.

On the other hand, the multicellular human beings with a large number of complex organ systems have only 23 pairs of chromosomes in their cells. Therefore, there is no relation between the number of chromosomes and the complexity levels of organisms.
