    Sexual drive in females:

    d. is dependent on hormones, can be affected by psychological factors, and is influenced by androgens that affect the hypothalamus.

Women are influenced by their sexual behavior by hormones such as estrogens and progesterone. Throughout the menstrual cycle their levels vary by changing sexual desire. Other very important hormones are pheromones that increase sexual desire. However, it is important to know that not everything is hormonal, the psychological aspect is also very important, for example, daily stress can significantly affect sexual behavior. There are women who have high levels of androgens such as testosterone which according to studies increases sexual desire in women. Androgens feed back the hypothalamus.

Answer: D. Sex drive is dependent on hormones, can be affected by psychological factors, and is influenced by androgens that affect the hypothalamus.

Explanation: Sex hormones are those that play an essential role in sexual development and reproduction. The main glands that produce sex hormones are the adrenal glands and the gonads (ovaries in females and testes in males) which interacts with the hypothalamus and the pituitary gland. Sex hormone instability can lead to changes in sexual drive and health problems such as hair loss, bone loss and infertility. Sex drive or Libido is highly dependent largely on many extraneous, external factors such as severe psychological trauma suffered as a child, such as emotional, physical, or sexual abuse. Also an important early loss, such as the loss of a parent can result to it. In females, the ovaries and adrenal glands are the main producers of sex hormones. Female sex hormones include estrogen, progesterone, and small quantities of testosterone. For instance, Lower levels of estrogen may reduce a person's sex drive and cause bone density loss, which can lead to osteoporosis. These hormonal changes may also increase the risk of heart disease and stroke. Also low levels of testosterone may lead to reduced sexual desire in some women. Therefore hormonal imbalance affect sex drives in both men and women due to psychological factors and influence on androgens produced from interactions with the hypothalamus.
