A client is admitted to the hospital for acute gastritis secondary to alcoholism and cirrhosis. for which clinical finding should the nurse assess this client?

    The nurse should look at the liver aminotransferases, AST and ALT, as they are signs of liver damage and should be elevated, but trend downward. The patient's fluid status should also be assessed on physical exam, as patient's with gastritis have decreased appetite.
