    There are three main types of plate boundaries:

    1. Convergent boundaries: where two plates are colliding.

    2. Divergent boundaries - where two plates are moving apart.

    3. Transform boundaries - where plates slide passed each other.

    Convergent boundaries: when one or both the tectonic plates collide with each other then subduction zone occurs. These plates are composed of oceanic crust.

    When both of the plates are made of oceanic crust, island arc and oceanic trenches occurs. Spreading of seafloor also occur at the back of island arc known as back-arc basins it also associated with the eruption of submarine volcanoes.

    When two continental crust collide with each other due to their lightness it creates the formation of large mountain ranges. example Himalayas
