Both the transcription and the replication process involve the generation of new molecules; for transcription, new RNA molecule is generated while during the replication process, DNA molecules are generated. The two processes have different functions; the function of transcription is to copy genetic information from DNA to RNA while the function of replication is to produce new DNA molecules.
