    Energy is defined as B. the ability to do work. or cause change.

    Changes that occur in matter whether chemical or physical always include a change in energy. Energy is never destroyed. It can only be transformed from one form of matter to another.

    For example: Burning candle.

    When candle wax burns, it gives of energy in the form of light and heat.

    Energy can be identified as chemical energy or thermal energy.

    Chemical energy is a form of energy stored in the chemical bonds formed between atoms. Chemical energy can be found in the food, fuel, and cells of our body.

    Thermal energy is the total energy of the motion of all the particles found in an object. Thermal energy is found in an object in relation to its temperature, either hot or cold.
