    In the human heart, blood passes through the heart twice in one cardiac cycle and oxygenated blood is kept separate from deoxygenated blood. This is known as double circulation and the system is called double circulatory system.

    The vessel which carries oxygenated blood is called arteries while the vessel which carries deoxygenated blood is called veins.
