    The mode of inheritance in black fur colour is dominant inheritance, the presence of a single black allele will cause the phenotype to be black fur. Allele for black fur colour is dominant over allele for brown colour.

    The mode of inheritance for brown colour is recessive inheritance, the allele has to be homozygous for it to find expression in the phenotype.

    Let's assume A is the allele for black fur and b is the allele for brown colour, the genotype of the mice are given below;

    Male brown mouse: bb

    Black female mouse 1: Ab

    Black female mouse 2: AA
