A lahar can be described as a critical type of mud or debris flow.

The components of a lahar include a slurry containing pyroclastics, debris from rocks and water. A lahar is made up of wet concretes.

The lahar originates from the slopes of a volcano and gets eroded in a river valley. A lahar has the ability to grow in size as it may accumulate other rock debris along with it as it flows down.
