How does phytoplankton and bacteria in nutrient-rich water contribute to the formation of oil beneath the ocean floor? explain?

    When phytoplankton and bacteria dies, organic matter gets collected on the seafloor and pressed once it hits the floor, eventually confined into the Earth's Mantle. This is where high pressure and temperatures convert the biomass into oil.
