You just got married and discover that your new father-in-law has albinism and cystic fibrosis. What are the odds that your first child will have neither albinism nor cystic fibrosis

    My first child:

    -Albinism probabilities: 1/2 x 1/2: 1/4

    -Cystic fibrosis probabilities: 1/2 x 1/2: 1/4

    The odds of being healthy for both diseases: 1/4 + 1/4: 1/2
