    Explanation:

    It is already explained in question that in X linked or sex-linked diseases, the X chromosome carries the mutation. We already know that females carry two copies XX of the X chromosome while males carry one copy of the X chromosome and one copy of the Y chromosome.

    If a male has affected the X chromosome with the Y chromosome it will express the disease however, with normal X chromosome he will be unaffected. While females have two copies of the X chromosome so if along with mutated X chromosome a healthy X chromosome is also present, she will be a carrier of the disease.
