Lunar maria are vast basaltic plains on our Moon that early astronomers thought to be bodies of water and referred to them as seas. Over the years the question of water on other planets in our solar system continues. Liquid water may have existed on Venus and Mars in the distant past. Water is also thought to be present under the surface of several natural satellites, particularly the Galilean moons of Jupiter.

The discovery of water, or the lack of it, on planets throughout our solar system has been aided by the recent use of

A) telescopes.

B) radio waves.

C) space probes.

D) UV radiation.

The discovery of water, or the lack of it, on planets throughout our solar system has been aided by the recent use of space probes.

    Explanation:

Space probes are robotic spacecraft which explore outer space by traveling through interstellar space and orbit or land on other planets and natural satellites. The information they collect is used to understand the weather conditions and other changes that occur on those planetary bodies, and to plan other space missions.

The space probes known as Spirit and Opportunity were sent to Mars to look for evidence of water and they have found lots of evidence that water was once all over the surface of Mars. The telescopes like Kepler space telescope observed millions of stars and detected thousands of planets in the space and the Hubble space telescope provides clear views of the universe in visible, infrared and ultraviolet light.
