If new evidence is discovered that the theory does not accommodate, the theory is generally modified in light of this new evidence. Scientists believed that there was a small atom that was super hot, and they believed that inside of that was our universe. that is how they came up with the big bang theory. these were ideas from scientists, not facts, that's why it is called a theory. scientists continue to study to try and prove this theory.
