What determines whether a particular hormone will act on a target cell?

    One particular component of the endocrine system in which it primarily determines whether a particular hormone will act on a target cell would be called as a receptor. In addition, receptors are also part of our nerves wherein it is the one that receives impulsive signals sent from the other nerve cell.
